On Tuesday (23 October) morning Mayor Lisa Farrell welcomed Ewa Sojka of Revitalise to the Town Council offices to hand over a cheque for £708, a Town Council grant that will fund a a much-needed break for two disabled people from Marlborough, along with their carers.
Ewa explained the range of respite options available to both people with disabilities and carers, which include holidays themed for young people, for couples, with evening entertainment and trips to the continent and the Isle of Wight. They also offer less obvious breaks, such as stays to include Christmas shopping trips so that people can go shopping without their usual carers in order to make sure there’s a surprise for everyone under the Christmas tree.
