It only rained a bit, but that didn’t stop the crowds turning up to The Parade for the Cinema’s ‘Family Festival’ to enjoy an afternoon of great music from a range of excellent local bands, to sample the wood-fired pizzas, Ramsbury’s best beer, gin and vodka, or just chill in The Parade Cinema courtyard under the large canopy that makes it the ideal all-weather place to enjoy.

A large crowd, definitely. Some just coming in, staying a while, having a beer, or pizza then coming back. The wood-fired Pizza oven was in full and continuous use. It managed to turn out several hundred pizzas during the day so it was one of Marlborough’s popular festival weekends. Topped by ‘The Zoots’, very popular locally-based band with a wide following.
And on the Sunday, The Parade was back open to traffic but a sunny afternoon with Pimms by the….. jug (not bucket) with laid back music from Marcella and several other bands, all making an extremely chilled summer Sunday afternoon.
If it had started to rain, then there was always the opportunity to pop inside the Cinema to catch a film, but that wasn’t too necessary although many did, experiencing the superb sound, comfort and vision that the cinema offers.
Even though The Parade was closed for traffic, no problem for the Fire Station with one appliance returning during the afternoon, maybe having been involved sorting the Burbage canal incident where a lorry plunged over the embankment causing the road to be closed.

Heading the bill were The Zoots:

Before The Zoots came on, the entertainment kicked off with ‘Always Fine’. Then ‘Royal Soul’, ‘The Vooz’ – Lee Matthew’s’ band, and Lee organised the day’s music – then the Folk sound of ‘Splat the Rat’, then ‘Death is a Girl’ – and finally – the Zoots…

And on Sunday, it was Marcella:
