He’s been pretty busy this week. No, not Santa but Marlborough’s Mayor, Councillor Mark Cooper.
Yesterday, Wednesday 27 October he was at The Merchant’s House to declare their 2021 Christmas Room open.

In the presence of the Chair of the Trustees, Alison Galvin-Wright, Shop Director and Trustee, Anthony Cohen and The Merchant’s House Shop Manager, Jessica Taylor Cllr Cooper made sure that everything was working, even trying out the card machine in the first floor Christmas Room to make sure that was operating properly as well.
“It’s been a difficult year – or eighteen months” said Trustee Chair, Alison Galvin Wright”. “But we are very pleased that our Christmas Room is now open”, adding that “The Room will be open, seven days every week until 24 December”.
Mayor, Cllr Cooper enjoyed looking at all the goods on show and said it was “just the place to do some Christmas shopping”. “I’m sure that I’ll be back, very soon” he added.
