Our local Air Ambulance service – the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance – is a facility that we rarely think about, or not in our everyday lives but when it’s needed, the perceived level of importance changes. It can be, and often is – a sustainer of life rather than likely death.
The Air Ambulance service is a charity and it relies on us. And at critical moments we rely on them. Over the month of April they are launching ‘Chalk Walk’, a month-long walking challenge that invites you to explore some of the most iconic countryside in Wiltshire, while raising a target of £100 for the charity.
There are a couple of options – a shorter 17 mile route, and a longer 32 mile routs. It’s open to all and the choice of routes means that anyone can succeed and bring that vital funding to this important charity.
‘Chalk Walk’ – it’s inspired by our famed local While Horses and the routes link these landmarks on the downs via canal paths, trails through the woodlands and more, all of which combine to create a challenge that is enjoyable, healthy and valuable.
The challenge starts in Marlborough, in the George Lane Car Park but you will need to register first. Click here to reach the section of the Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance website that has more information and enables registration.
