Samaritans rely heavily on their shop in Curtis St, Swindon for funds to support their valuable service.
All the shop funds raised go to support the Swindon & District branch and their listening volunteers to help anyone who is struggling to cope, day or night, without judgement or telling anyone what to do.
The shop is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and volunteers can do one of two shifts of just over three hours on any of those days.
Volunteers for listening and also for the shop don’t just come from Swindon, quite a few are from the Marlborough area as our local Samaritans branch is there for anyone who comes from this far wider area.
