On Friday 1 May between 7pm and midnight Salisbury Rd will be closed from Cherry Orchard to Priors Court for the first session of fixing potholes. Then again, for several days between 7pm on 15 May and 6am on 19 May the road will be closed for through traffic as resurfacing will be carried out adjacent to the canal / railway bridge near to Burbage.
The latter closure won’t be significant for local Marlborough traffic, just for anyone wishing to get to Burbage or beyond whereas any planned trip to Tesco on Friday evening this week should be avoided or rescheduled. And for any resident of Marleberg Grange who wants to venture into town on Friday evening the options are walk or go on a nice long diversionary trip.
On Friday this will be one of Wiltshire Council’s fleet of ‘Bobcats’ in action, their pothole elimination machines. Click here to see the council’s YouTube video of the Bobcat in action with the former (Conservative) leader of the Council, Richard Clewer explaining what they do.
So will the Wiltshire Council Bobcat turn the Salisbury Rd ‘Slalom course’ into a proper ‘Downhill run’? We’ll know on Saturday 2nd…….
