The latest hold-up follows the recent resurfacing between the College and the Barton Park entrance road. Whilst this major resurfacing project took several nights to complete and cured the serious issue of dangerous potholes along that stretch, one small section – no more than 20m in length on the eastbound side, still remains (as of the morning of Monday 10 September) unsurfaced.
Occasionally, as in the accompanying pic there will be a van and workmen present, but most times not.
This follows another period of several days a few months previously where traffic lights were erected for no apparent reason – across a clear stretch of the road.
Wiltshire Council are waiting for Thames Water to carry out stopcock repair work prior to finishing the resurfacing of this stretch. Once Thames Water have finished the final stretch of resurfacing will be done. This is now scheduled to be completed on Friday 14 November.
