Pet’s Corner, situated in the former Now Vauxhall showroom on George Lane opened its door for the first time on Saturday, September 28. The shop caters for small animals, dogs and cats and also has aquatics, bird and reptile sections.
Pet’s Corner started life in 1968 as a small family run business and now has two hundred stores nationwide. It prides itself on offering high quality pet food which is made from natural products and is different from mainstream pet foods found in supermarkets.
Manager Amber Hall has moved to Marlborough from the Reading branch, “ I’m pleased to be here, my uncle lives here and everyone is nice and friendly. It’s also dog central round here – everyone has a dog.”
Staff are trained to be knowledgeable about the products on sale and can advise customers. “If we don’t know the answer we will find out,” says Amber.
The Marlborough branch also has dog and cat pampering salon attached to it offering a range of treatments from shampoo and wash to clipping and grooming – the ultimate spa experience for your pet !
Next summer a new vets called Pet Practice will open next door to Pet’s Corner.
Pet’s Corner offers a free Puppy Hour session every Saturday from 9.30 to 10.30 am. This is an opportunity for the puppies to meet other dogs for a spot of socialisation and for the owners to meet. The shop offers 10% off anything bought during that hour.
Customers can order products on line for delivery or request click and collect at the shop. The shop is open Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 6pm and from 10 am to 4pm on a Sunday.
