Sarah Annable-Gardner, Chief Executive of Action Through Enterprise, has been an awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for ‘services to international development in Ghana’.
The award reflects Sarah’s role in bringing together people in Ramsbury, Hungerford and beyond to support communities 3000 miles away in rural, northern Ghana. As a result of her incredible passion and commitment, thousands of lives have been transformed.
The charity was set up in Ramsbury in 2012 and currently has an office in Hungerford, where Sarah now lives. In Ghana, there are fifty staff – and 23,000 people whose lives have been touched.
This is an amazing story of how one person can spark real change – and build unlikely bonds across continents. It is wonderful that Sarah has received this recognition – on behalf of so many others.
