The Oxfam shop in Marlborough High Street is looking for more volunteers so that it can extend its opening hours during the week and open on Sundays. Volunteers would be required to work the cash till, help with the sorting of donations and listing things on-line. A weekly commitment of a minimum of 4 hours would be very welcome.
Freya Hanley, Volunteer Resourcing and Engagement Coordinator, commented, “It is a great place to volunteer – especially for book and music lovers – to learn new skills, become a part of a new community and ultimately contribute towards Oxfam’s fight against poverty across the world.”

Emma Roach, manager of the Marlborough shop for the last 9 years, told Marlborough.news, “Every day is different with new customers and donations and you never know what you are going to find at the bottom of the bag of donations. Only last week we discovered a limited edition Lewis Carroll which went to on to sell for £760.
We need more volunteers to top up our existing team of 22. If you enjoy books and are a people person please get in touch. Phone 01672 515932 or email oxfamf2935@oxfam.org.uk.”
