Marlborough Hockey Club(MHC) are pleased to announce they have been re-awarded the ClubMark by England Hockey. ClubMark is the kite mark for excellence in club management with a big focus on coach development and safeguarding of all members. MHC are proud to have held this accreditation since early 2000 and they go through the re-accreditation process every 3 years.
Junior Head Coach, Sarah Kendall, told Marlborough.news, “As the club approaches its 125 year in 2025, we look forward to a whole range of events to celebrate what we have and what we want to achieve in the future. We have already invested in coach development with two bespoke coaching programmes with England Hockey.
MHC is a family focused club with the ethos of being a club for life. We have many family generations playing and regularly welcome back players when they return to living in the area, for both social and league team playing.
The junior section continues to go from strength to strength with over 300 under 18s playing and the club is proud to keep so many teenage girls and boys playing, successfully integrating them into senior teams, and also supporting many to play in Wiltshire County teams.
The club plays at Marlborough College astroturf pitches on Tuesday, Wednesdays evenings and at the weekends. All new members are welcome, please contact the Club Captain or the Junior Membership Secretary.”
