Marlborough and District LINK is what enables many of the older generation get around. To doctors appointments, to the supermarkets and shops, or to get out for a cup of tea, coffee and even a cake. To spend valuable time meeting friends in the community – LINK offers something that frees many to live their lives to the fullest.
LINK can’t just exist as a charity without the people who make it work.
Drivers: LINK always need more drivers as this is right at the core of what LINK does, and to handle the ever-increasing stream of demand for transport.
Co-ordinators: LINK need, at present, two more Co-ordinators. Volunteers who will devote one day per fortnight to take appointments over the phone and to book drivers to carry out those requests.
If you can, please help. LINK asks whether you could give some hours to serving those in our community who need help with transport or shopping as well as coping with sheer loneliness.
If you can help LINK help the community, e-mail hugh@wiltslinks.uk or call LINK on 01672 288007 for more information.
LINK is busy and provides a great service to the Marlborough and District community. Below is a panel showing what LINK provided for the community last year: over 40,000 miles travelled, over 5,000 hours given by volunteers and more than 3,000 trips made. Please help the community, please help LINK……
