If you were one of the two thousand or so people in Preshute’s field on Saturday last week enjoying the gret party atmosphere that only MantonFest can deliver, then on Saturday next week – 12 July – Impresario Roger Grant and his MantonFest team have created another MantonFest for you and – introducing the MantonFest experience to – the people of Devizes. And the weather forecast looks just as good for 12 July as it was for 28 June. Sunny…….
Who’s playing? AC/DC UK, Nirvana UK, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Barrelhouse, Chicago 9 Rhythm & Blues Band and Jamie Williams & The Roots Collective will be making the day roll – there to entertain and deliver what makes MantonFest such a great day.
Why Devizes? Close to this area, many from here go there regularly and vice versa. and that’s also where MantonFest sponsor Grist Environmental are based and it was inspired by Grist’s founder Nigel Grist saying to Roger – ‘Why can’t we have this great event for Devizes?’ And so Roger replied ‘leave it to me’………
But there is a serious side – MantonFest raises funds for various nominated charities, Park Farm Festival will be raising money for local cancer charities, in memory of Nigel Grist’s late wife who died of cancer several years ago.
MantonFest is now recognised as Marlborough’s biggest and most popular one day Festival in the Calendar. Could the Park Farm Festival one day become the Devizes ‘Big One’ too…..?
Unlikely to attract quite the same number as MantonFest which has now had sixteen years to create it’s large and loyal following, but it promises to be another great day out with some top music, many of those who people come back to see at MantonFest.
Where is it? In Whistley Road, Potterne, just to the South of Devizes stay over? There will be the opportunity to camp as toilets, showers and drinking water are all there. A minibus will be ferrying festival-goers from Market Place in Devizes.
