Unlike in the High Street visitors to Marlborough Golf Club now have the benefit of decent lighting. Thanks to Community First for awarding the grant, and Marlborough Town Council and the AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) for their help now there is the necessary additional lighting at the club.
The lighting helps light the front entrance to the club (visitors can see where it is), whilst also adding bollard lighting to the car park as the picture above shows.
This results from members and visitors feedback, which highlighted concerns over the lack of lighting in these areas. But playing golf in the dark(?), you may ask? No, whilst some dedicated members will stretch every bit of light from above whilst out on the course this is more for those using and visiting the clubhouse in the evenings.
The clubhouse is a very popular and well-used venue, particularly in the dark winter evenings (and of course, pre-Christmas for dinners and parties) and these lights will help both members and visitors see exactly where they are, and where they are going.
