The auction is the brainchild of St John’s parent Jackie Ferguson for the St John’s Family and Friends organisation, which is raising funds for the Academy’s all-weather sports pitch appeal.
She has already found donors for 40 exciting lots for the auction, which will run online throughout June, which include the week in an apartment in Brazil, a VIP day at the Barbury Horse Trials, a children’s party on a dairy farm, and a flight around the Marlborough area.
Kate Hunter, St John’s development officer, believes the auction has the potential to be a great success.
“A lot of local people have offered exciting lots for the auction,” she told Marlborough News Online. “For local businesses it is a great promotion opportunity as all the lots will be listed on the St John’s website with links to company websites.
“We hope to raise at least £10,000 from the auction with a combination of high-value lots and some smaller-value lots, to enable everyone to take part and help raise much-needed funds for St John’s.
“We would love the opportunity to include more lots in the auction, and I hope that anyone able to help will call me on 01672 519575 or email stjohnsfamilyandfriends@hotmail.co.uk by Monday 20 May”.
