What better way to start the training for the charity’s marathon walk than a quiz evening with a chilli meal and raffle at Marlborough Rugby Football Club on March 24 at 7.30pm – or just go along to support the MoonWalkers and this great charity.
The money raised will go to Walk the Walk charity, which is the largest grant-making breast cancer charity in the UK donating to many vital breast cancer causes.

It will be the full 26.2 miles or, for younger readers, 42,195 metres.
The MoonWalkers will set off from Clapham Common at midnight on May 13. Participants – both women and men – walk through the night wearing decorated bras. The theme of the decorations this year is the Roaring Twenties…decorated bras or flapper dresses and cloche hats.
Helen Wilkes told Marlborough News Online: “We all have friends who have been affected by breast cancer. We want to raise money in a fun way and get fit at the same time. We are following a training plan, which is a bit of a challenge when you work full-time.”
Walk the Walk charity supports research into breast cancer, helps improve the lives of those with the cancer, and encourages people to improve their levels of fitness. There are several walking challenges each year with The MoonWalk London marathon being the most popular. In 2016 this one event raised over six million pounds.
Overall the charity has raised over one hundred million pounds and is currently supporting vital research into secondary cancers. Other projects supported are Penny Brohn UK in Bristol and Living Well courses, The Breast Cancer Haven in London and ‘scalp cooling’ procedures which combat the effects of chemotherapy.
Teams of six are needed to take part in the quiz evening – tickets are £12.50 each are obtainable at moonwalkquizmrfcmarch2017@gmail.com You can use the same email to donate a raffle prize.
