The Duchess of Cornwall is to visit Marlborough’s Savernake Hospital on Tuesday (February 9) to see the Prospect Hospice’s Outreach Centre there.
The Duchess is President of the Prospect Hospice which is in Wroughton and serves the Marlborough area.
The Outreach Centre at Savernake Hospital was made possible by an appeal which raised £260,000 from the community. The Centre is in space provided at a peppercorn rent by Great Western Hospital which owns Savernake Hospital.
The centre was opened last year and offers advice, therapy and counselling. The Duchess will meet staff, volunteers and some of the people who raise the money.
Later in the day she will open the new school building at Forest and Sandridge Primary School in Melksham.
The Duchess was last in Marlborough in October 2013 as guest of honour at a charity concert in the College Chapel.
But most people in the area will recall her visit in October 2012 as part to the Queen’s Jubilee Year celebrations.
