Mrs Fielding has been the Accountable Officer of the CCG during its planning phase and since it took over from the Primary care Trust in 2012. She will be taking up a Chief Officer post within the NHS in Essex, where her family is based.
Commenting on her decision, Mrs Fielding said: “It’s been an absolute privilege to work in Wiltshire with a fantastic team and supportive colleagues.”
“We’ve achieved a great deal, re-shaping the way that health care is provided to people in the county through the incredible work and vision of our GPs and the wider health community, and I’m really proud of what’s been delivered so far.”
“On a personal level, though, a weekly commute to Essex begins to take its toll after four years and I’ve decided now is the time to return to family and friends in Essex.”
“I will leave knowing that the CCG’s vision of delivering health care closer to home remains in safe hands with a dedicated, committed group of people”.
Simon Truelove, the CCG’s Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Officer, will become interim Chief Officer until a replacement is appointed.
