It is also now clear that the thieves used a scaffolding board to break down the shop’s door.
Ducklings Toy Shop in Hilliers Yard just off Marlborough High Street was broken into during the night. A lot of damage was caused and toys were dropped along the pavement.
The shop was unable to open on Monday morning (November 3) while scene of crime officers inspected the premises.
But soon after lunch Ducklings was able to reopen: “We’re up and running again!” they announced their Facebook page.
“Thanks to so many people for their support, good wishes and offers of help. In particular thanks to the wonderful customer who spotted the crashed car full of Lego and linked it to us and [to] the thieves for all the fingerprints they left.”

The police were alerted at 7.00 am by a passer-by that the shop door had been kicked in and that there were toys all over the pavement.
Wiltshire police are investigating this crime and the link to the crashed car. They ask anyone with information to contact them on the 101 telephone number.
