Last Saturday (18 February) Jane Leighton of the Brighter Futures Radiotherapy Appeal at Swindon’s GWH were presented with a cheque for £1,700, raised by Marlborough Bowls Club from all their efforts over the previous six months.
The money was raised by many different ventures. From raffles at socials, cake and various other table sales, to a dedicated fundraising evening with an auction. The presentation marked the culmination of all these activities, and Jane thanked everyone who had been involved in making the fund-raising programme of events “such a great success with a fantastic amount raised’.
Around eighty Bowls Club members and friends were present to celebrate the cheque hand-over, many of whom had been instrumental in raising the funds for Brighter Futures and were thanked by the Social Comittee of the club for all of their efforts.
