With yet another poll showing a surge in support for UKIP, the newly-reformed Devizes Constutuency Party is having an Action Day in the town – and Marlborough too – today (Saturday).
Starting at 10am in Devizes Market Square members will be out and about, talking to Saturday morning shoppers and distributing newsletters and leaflets. UKIP activists will then move on to Marlborough and will be in the High Street by 2pm.
A new poll in Thanet South where Tory MP Laura Sandys has announced she is standing down at the next election shows that the Conservatives are in third place behind UKIP.
Labour in first place, up five points with 35 per cent, UKIP second on 30 per cent, the Tories third on 28 per cent, down 20 points, and the Liberal Democrats last with just five per cent.
UKIP leader Nigel Farage has hinted that he make become the candidate there.
