Following the sell-out success of their inaugural concert of ‘Mozart’s Requiem’, the Stand Sure Orchestra and Choirs are back with their ‘Christmas Crackers’ concert. This early evening concert will be performed on Sunday 19 December in the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey at 6pm. Tickets are £10, click here or from The Little Lunch Box, Pewsey.
Stand Sure youth choir will be joining the adult choir and orchestra. The concert is being held early evening so that everyone in the family can come along and enjoy it. There’s even a prize for the best Christmas jumper.
Musical Director, Chris Anderson, told marlborough.news, “The concert will be like a Christmas cracker – exciting and fun. Let us take you and your family on a ‘Sleigh Ride’ through a ‘Winter Wonderland’ to help you ‘Believe’, that ‘It feels Like Christmas.’ Legend has it there are ‘Twelve Days of Christmas and although winter doesn’t start until the ‘Winter Solstice’ we hear what it’s like ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’. We’ll play and sing songs that will make you say ‘Somewhere in my Memory’ I recall the year they asked ‘Do they know it’s Christmas?’ That was ‘A Most wonderful Christmas’.”
Covid safety is paramount for the concert. The audience are required to wear face-masks, unless exempt. The Bouverie Hall is large, airy and well ventilated. There will be a one-way system in operation, seats will be socially distanced, hand sanitiser will be available. All seats will be sanitised before the concert.
Chris commented, “Come and warm yourselves musically with a programme that’ll raise a smile, comfort your heart and get your feet dancing.”
