The licensing service tomorrow (Wednesday) for the Rev Miri Keen, the new team vicar of St George’s, Preshute, is to be attended by both Marlborough’s mayor, Councillor Marian Hanniford-Dobson, and deputy Mayor Councillor Margaret Rose.
The Rev Keen was previously associate minister of North Leigh, Cogges and South Leigh in the Oxford diocese and was also employed one day a week as a community worker in North Leigh.
“Your parish profile identifies so much good, and so much potential at St George’s and in the Marlborough Anglican Team,” she says.
“I am excited that you are committed to stepping outside the existing structures of church life in order to share the good news of Jesus with the people of the parish and that you are seeking to bless them in practical ways.”
The Rev Keen is married with two children, currently both at university.
