From tomorrow (September 4) a new Boots pharmacy on the ground floor of the Great Western Hospital will provide medicines to any patient who is given a prescription following an outpatient appointment.
The pharmacy has a private consultation room where patients can talk to a pharmacist in confidence and also offers a range of typical Boots UK products including over the counter medicines and lunchtime meal deals as well as health and beauty products.
With Boots UK providing outpatient pharmacy services, the hospital’s own pharmacy team will have more time to spend directly supporting patients and staff on the wards. It is also hoped that outpatients will receive their medicines more quickly – as has proved the case at other hospitals which have invested in similar services.
The new pharmacy will be open from 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 2pm on Saturdays.
