The local area police have reported that a 39-year-old man was arrested last night (October 30) for assaulting a police officer. He was held in custody overnight.
The police officer was reported to be “OK and no injuries.”
Two nights earlier police were on their way back to the station to sign off at the end of their shift when they were flagged down by a motorist who had seen a man smoking a cannabis joint.
The 29-year-old man was located and found to have a small amount of cannabis and ‘multiple bags of white powder’. He was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.
His home was searched, he was interviewed and bailed for further enquiries to be made.
