Home-Start Kennet (HSK) is calling for new volunteers to sign up and help support local families with young children through their challenging times, as part of National Volunteers Week.
Last year, HSK volunteers supported 107 families and 216 children in Devizes, Marlborough, Calne, Chippenham, Pewsey and Tidworth. However, the charity know that there are many more families who need their help.

Rob Parkinson is Chief Executive of Home-Start UK: “Our volunteers’ work has never been more urgent and important; we know that a child’s earliest years are irreplaceable. Without a stable, loving and nurturing environment, a very young child will not develop the vital foundations they need.”
“Our volunteers make an extraordinary difference to the lives of the parents and children they support, there is no judgement – just compassionate, confidential help.”
Home-Start Kennet is also bringing this year’s National Volunteers’ Week theme – Time to celebrate – to life by holding a Volunteer’s Garden Party. Volunteers will enjoy music, a garden tour and refreshments as a thank you from the charity.
Home-Start Kennet’s next training course starts in Devizes in October, 2019. For more information about volunteering for Home-Start Kennet, visit their website or email: hskadmin@homestartkennet.co.uk or call 01672 569457.
