The British Museum and the Marsh Christian Trust were announcing the winners of their 2014 volunteer awards celebrating the work and achievements of museum volunteers. The awards scheme for volunteers who help museums engage with their visitors is run by the Trust and the British Museum.
Director of the Wiltshire Museum, David Dawson with a group of volunteers collected the award at the British Museum on Monday (September 28) on behalf of the entire archive and library team.
The Wiltshire Museum could not maintain its nationally important work without the help of over 120 volunteers who are prepared to give up their time and energies to support the museum’s work – from welcoming visitors, running the shop, helping with events and activities to working on the collections.
