That headline should not read ‘snappy’ or ‘happy’: the penultimate Marlborough Area Board meeting of the financial year (January 28) awarded a grant of £192 to the Baydon Toddler Group so they can buy new baby changing facilities for their meetings at Baydon Young People’s Hall.
The other grant awarded was to the Cycling Sub-Group of Transition Marlborough for the development of a safer network of cycling routes through Marlborough.
They got £1,000 for directional signs around the route and some more dropped kerbs. This grant should allow the route to be completed soon.
With just one more meeting to go, there is still £27,193 waiting to be awarded. If suitable applications do not come through the remaining money goes back to Wiltshire Council.
However there are several strong applications in the pipeline and there should be “quite a good call on the money”. Applicants are urged to get their forms in quickly as the last grants will have to be accepted in the order forms are received.
