Your report on the St John’s All Weather pitch proposal – welcomed and supported by our Town Council – mentions the light pollution risk from this development and its effect on Marlborough Dark Skies. However despite this issue being ‘accepted by fellow councillors’ I see no specific mention of Light Pollution in the Town Council’s published comments on the Wiltshire Planning Website at https://development.wiltshire.gov.uk/pr/s/web-comment/a07Q300000X3EnkIAF/marlborough-town-councils-comment

I trust that the Town Council will, despite this omission, make every effort to ensure that light pollution form this development is minimised and bear this in mind when formally commenting on future developments. As an amateur astronomer I strongly feel that any further degradation of the sky quality around Marlborough is to be deplored.
