First sound of the cuckoo – letter from Margaret Rose

Sirs,

Just to cheer everyone up, the cuckoo has not deserted us and he called at 8 am this morning (Thursday April 16).

What a welcome sound in our isolation. To know he is out there with his cheery call in the Axford /Ramsbury area, and just to be able to stop gardening and listen to his plaintiff call , and if one is lucky catch site of him as he flies around his territory
