
Who are AM?
We publish primary source collections and online databases in the humanities and social sciences. Our collections cover a wide range of topics such as gender and sexuality, colonialism and imperialism, and global history. We work with libraries, archives, and museums to digitize and make historical materials accessible to researchers and educators worldwide.
The opportunity
The AM New Careers Scheme is a comprehensive and engaging 18-month programme that will introduce you to a complete overview of how a digital publishing company operates. From day one as an Associate you’ll hit the ground running and spend time in different departments across the business, learning how each one adds value and plays a role in delivering success for the business.
This 18-month programme is designed to develop publishing industry professionals with a solid grounding across our company. You’ll develop skills that could prepare you to progress a career in Marketing, Engagement, Sales or Product and Business Analysis based on your interests throughout the programme and the ultimate needs of AM.
Through the programme you’ll gain exposure to all areas of AM and gain experience and knowledge of working in a range of teams and departments where you’ll benefit from training and support provided by our top sales, marketing and technology professionals.
About you
You’ll be a passionate and engaged individual always looking to learn and try new things. Due to the nature of the programme and the placements within different teams, you’ll be adaptable and willing to take on tasks that support the team from day one.
As a strong team player with excellent communication skills, you’ll build effective working relationships quickly and adapt communication styles when required. An eye for detail and quick ability to learn new skills will be key strengths of yours.
You will have a strong interest in the humanities and social sciences. Your love of History may have been fostered in your academic background or equally from a keen interest in visiting museums or listening to history and humanities based podcasts. Regardless of the origins of your passion – we are aiming for you to bring it to life in your application and covering letter.
You will have demonstrable relationship building skills and commercial awareness that you have developed regardless of whether you are starting out on your career journey, returning to work or embarking on a new career direction.

Our selection process will involve an Assessment process (online) in June and then further on to an in person interview at our Marlborough Office in July. These timings may be subject to change but we are aiming to make an offer in late July/early August with a view to a September 2023 start here in Marlborough.
