The poems of Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon – who was a pupil at Marlborough College and after whom a Marlborough street was named – will be performed along with songs of the era at a special recital to mark the 100th anniversary of the start of World War I.
Lights Out, compiled and directed by amateur historian David Sherratt, will be performed at St Peter’s Church on Sunday, May 18 from 7.30pm.
Poems will be recited by The Marlborough Players, while the songs to be performed by Marlborough Community Choir include Good-bye-ee and Keep the Home Fires Burning.
