“This promises to be a most memorable and enjoyable evening with one of the leading Cambridge college choirs,” said lead organiser Ian Herd. “Securing this outstanding singing group is a coup for Bedwyn as they more often perform in much larger venues. St Mary’s is a beautiful church and villagers have rallied to offer accommodation and hospitality to ensure a wonderful evening.”

Founded in the 19th century, the mixed undergraduate choir has won international praise for its depth and range and for its commanding performances. The choir’s recordings have often specialised in the re-discovery of forgotten choral repertories. CDs will be on sale after the concert.
The Church of St Mary has been at the heart of life in Great Bedwyn for over 1,000 years. The Grade I listed building has some non-structural issues causing deterioration. Immediate remedial work will cost more than £160,000.
Inclusive tickets for the performance cost £20 for the first five rows, £15 in the main area, £10 for chancel choir stalls, or £5 for children under 16 accompanied by an adult.
Tickets are available from 14 May from the Post Office, Church Street, Great Bedwyn SN8 3PF, the White Horse Bookshop, 136 High Street, Marlborough SN8 1HN, Hungerford Bookshop, 24a High Street, Hungerford RG17 0NF and Finola Duchars, 01672 870 093 / finoladuchars@gmail.com.
