The Power of the Community
The film documents a peak oil scenario following the end of the Cold War when Cuba,
heavily dependent upon the Soviet economy, lost half of its oil imports and 85 per cent of international trade.
Through interviews and visits to projects, the film charts the country’s response
with urban agriculture,
moves to energy independence
and sustainability in key areas such as transport and medicine.
The film is showing at the Marlborough Community & Youth Centre in St Margaret’s SN8 4BA
Doors open at 7.15pm for 7.30pm.
It is free although donations towards costs are welcome.
The Centre is accessible for people with disabilities and has reserved parking for them.
Other parking is also available at the Centre and nearby.
