SUMMER FARM WALK & PICNIC with MARLBOROUGH DOWNS SPACE FOR NATURE

This year’s summer farm walk returns to the Burderop Estate near Swindon
for an evening of two parts. We’ll start off at 6:00 pm at Overtown,
where we’ll explore the recently surveyed medieval village with Winchester University archaeologist Nathalie Barrett.
We’ll then decamp to Lodge Farm for a stroll in the woods (from 7:00 pm) to hear from Arthur Witchell, the estate manager,
how this Site of Special Scientific Interest is managed to maximise its value for wildlife.
We’ll also be joined by our favourite ornithologist Matt Prior, who has been doing woodland bird surveys at Burderop
for a couple of years so no doubt has plenty to share with us! We’ll round off the evening with a picnic –
bring your own food and seating. There’ll be a barbecue available if you want to cook anything.
