NEW ECONOMIC READING & DISCUSSION GROUP with the QUAKERS
9 January 2018 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Marlborough’s Quakers are launching a weekly reading and discussion group to delve into
what ‘the economy’ really is and
what it can and cannot be made to do for us.
They will also be asking whether there can be such a thing as ‘The New Economy’.
The discussions – ‘non-religious’ and ‘non-political’ – will be guided by a collection of booklets
produced by the Quakers called The New Economy Series.
These draw on ideas from the New Economics Foundation, but are free from jargon and difficult maths.
The free booklets can be ordered from this website.
The group will meet on six Tuesday evenings starting with an introductory session on January 9
in the Jubilee Centre in Marlborough High Street – 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
Jan 9 First session Introduction to reading group.
