THE OCTOBER MEETING:

After the AGM our October speaker was Branch Member, Vernice Church. 

Last year she was asked to go on a 19 day textile tour in India. 

 Vernice showed us the various styles and techniques of the tribes in the different states she visited –

applique, mirror work and high quality hand embroidery, all using vibrant colours, but each very different.
In addition to visiting the tourist sites of Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur,

the group enjoyed block-printing workshops, visited textile museums

and were taken to wonderful fabric and haberdashery shops.
