Avebury Vocal Ensemble – Summer Concert

The Avebury Vocal Ensemble will be performing at the very lovely, ancient church of St. James in the historic village of Avebury at 7pm on Sunday 30^th June.

2024 is the 100^th anniversary of the death of Charles Villiers Stanford, one of the greatest figures in the English music revival of the 19^th & 20^th centuries.  Our programme is built around his three Motets and his Evening Service in G together with some of his secular works.  We also visit a couple of lesser-known works by Bernstein and will take a musical reflection on Ascensiontide, Corpus Christi and the feast of St. Peter & St. Paul with music by Finzi, Alain, Liszt, Faure and Vierne.
