‘Pewsey Primary School continues to be a good school’, says the Ofsted report the school received last month. Pupils are proud to attend the school, learn well across a range of subjects and value the many friends they have. The school was particularly praised for promoting a love of reading, which is shared between staff and pupils, and for the strong subject knowledge of staff.
Linda Trapnell, Chair of Governors, said, “The School received an extremely positive report, which reflected all the hard work that is done by the Leadership team, teaching staff and all the people who ensure the children learn in a safe and nurturing environment. One particular comment in the report reflected this very well: The Executive Headteacher and staff have high expectations for pupils’ conduct and behaviour. Staff and pupils are clear about the routines in place in and out of lessons. As a result, the school is calm and orderly. Pupils behave positively around school and in lessons. They trust adults to support them.”
Nicola Gilbert, Executive Headteacher, commented, “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent OFSTED Inspection, where we retained our Good rating under a Section 8 Inspection. We are so very pleased that OFSTED recognised all the wonderful work that goes on at Pewsey Primary. I am immensely proud of our amazing children, dedicated staff and our fantastic parents and community who contribute to ensure that every child is supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential.”
Pewsey Primary is part of King Alfred Trust, along with Puddleducks Nursery & Pre-School (0-4 Years) and also King’s Gate Primary in Amesbury.
Puddleducks were also visited by OFSTED in the Autumn Term when they received a good rating in all areas.
