Twelve pairs entered the Club annual doubles tournament organised and run by Lis Donaldson on October 19.
Playing in two sections of six, the section winners who contested the Final were Nick Hewens and Anabel Rugge-Price versus Colin Gratton and Clare Bamforth.
The final proved a classic that everyone seemed to enjoy, with Nick and Anabel worthy winners 5-4, but it was one of those matches that could have gone either way.
Voluntary entry fees in aid of the Macmillan Nurses raised £177, a marvellous effort.
