A charity clay pigeon shoot at Barbury Shooting School has raised £25,000 for Prospect Hospice.
The David Margesson Clay Shoot Challenge was named after the Chiseldon landowner who spearheaded the £3 million fundraising appeal to build the hospice 20 years ago.
Mr Margesson, a former High Sheriff of Wiltshire who was awarded an MBE for his hospice work in 2002, was also a supporter of Barbury Shooting School. He died from cancer in February last year.
The shoot was organised by David’s son-in-law Richard Bieneman and Ken Carter, and attracted many of the county’s finest game shots.
The winning team led by Will Nutland and comprising of Russell Cleverly, Nick Cleverly, Phil Copplestone and Andrew Bradley missed only 13 clays in their six flushes.
- The next charity shoot is on Friday, November 9 in aid of Wiltshire Air Ambulance. The cost of entering a team of four is £250. For details, or to book, contact the shooting school on 07872 666154 or email enquiries@barburyshoot.com
