Becky Knox, Angels coach and manager said “Seeing the Lionesses so close to home, really is an inspiration to young girls in the area, it can only help the female game to grow in popularity. The Angels have grown rapidly over the past 3 years, events like Tuesdays will spur on even more girls to get involved and give the game a go. The Under 12s have had a fantastic season so far with this experience being the icing on the cake, a lot of them see the Lionesses as role models, aspiring to be like them one day.”
After the game, one player said “I thought it was a great game, very inspiring. It made me want to work extra hard at my training with the hope I can play for England one day. The whole team had brilliant teamwork and I’m glad they won.”
