Zoe Garbutt, who previously was Acting Head at Shalbourne School and Academic Mentor for Primary PGCE students training with Excalibur Academies, is excited about the new developments.
She told Marlborough.news: “I am very excited to be here. The school is at the heart of a very supportive community with fantastic facilities and great space for outdoor learning. Taking over the pre-school means that those children have access to all of Burbage School’s facilities. The pre-school can join us for special events and assemblies and older children can become involved in mentoring the younger ones. The close links provide a smooth transition to Reception.”

Earlier in the year the school opened a new state of the art classroom for Early Years. “The children are thriving,” commented Zoe. “As a ‘Countryside Classroom’ school, we very much believe in connecting children to the natural environment and there are strong themes related to this throughout our curriculum. We have vibrant and inspirational teaching, focused on creating memorable experiences for children as they grow.”
The school is also celebrating the 2019 Key Stage 2 Sats results which were all above the National Average.

If you would like to visit the school there are a number of events being held over the next few weeks. On Saturday October 5 from 10am to 12pm two scavenger hunts are being held for the under 5’s and the 5’s and over.
For those starting school next September there are two ‘stay and play’ sessions being held. The first is on Monday October 21 from 9.30am to 11am and the second on Tuesday October 22 from 1.30 to 3pm.
Burbage Pre School offers two free taster sessions. Contact the school office o : 01672 810452 or email admin@burbage.wilts.sch.uk to make arrangements or to arrange a tour of the school.
