Preshute Primary School and Marlborough St Mary’s have raised several hundred pounds for Comic Relief and had lots of fun in the process.
Preshute held a crazy hair and pyjama day and pupils were encouraged to bring in a joke or silly poem to share with their class. Mary Mundy is Deputy Headteacher: “Red Nose Day is a good opportunity for pupils to learn about the world beyond the classroom. We are making links to Climate Change problems and the charity work that Comic Relief support. We’ve been following the Kilimanjaro treks. It makes the pupils aware of the wider world. “
At Marlborough St Mary’s the Friends of the School had organised a very energetic Danceathon. Inspired by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly who danced for more than twenty four hours for Comic Relief, the Marlborough St Mary’s Danceathon lasted an hour with each class joining in for around ten minutes.
Gemma Blundy and Alice MacDonald organised the Danceathon: “We wanted to do something a bit different, that would involve everyone and was active and fun.”
Needless to say, the top favourite tracks were ‘Baby Shark’ and ‘The Greatest Showman.’
