They’re back – Devizes Young Farmers’ annual Tractor ‘n Tinsel run to raise money for charity will take place on Sunday December 22nd and this year permission has been granted for the tractors to visit Marlborough High Street. At 12.20 on December 22nd nearly 200 decorated tractors, some of them vintage, will circle Marlborough High Street. There will be buckets and QR codes to collect money for this year’s chosen charities – Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Oracle and the Stroke Association. Click here to donate.

Luke Pearce, Chairman of Devizes Young Farmers, explained that the charities chosen have a very personal link to the group. Luke has a family member who is dealing with neck cancer, Johnny Taylor, a previous Wiltshire County Chairman of Young farmers suffered a stroke which has left him partially sighted and all farmers rely on the air ambulance as they often work so remotely.
Over the past 5 years the tractor run has raised over 35K for charity and Luke is hoping people will give generously this year.

Luke told Marlborough.news, “I am really looking forward to the tractor and tinsel run this year. The run now has a place in my heart due to it providing the money to fund these vitally important charities. I enjoy getting out and about and seeing all the children and adults enjoying the well decorated tractors. Make sure you give us a wave and whenever you see a farmer make sure you say thank you. It makes our day.”

The decorated tractors will leave T H Whites in Devizes at 10.30 am, arrive at Pewsey at 11.15, Marlborough High Street at 12.20, Horton at 14.40 and return to Devizes Marketplace at 15.00. There will also be a Christmas Market and display from 10.30 am in Devizes Marketplace and an illuminated Night Run around Devizes Marketplace at 17.00.
There is still time to book a place on the run. Follow the link here.
