Local residents and friends, Lisa Foster and Carly Johnson, are opening a brand new shop full of ‘must have’ objects and ideas to give your home and garden a facelift this Spring. Peacock and Lily will open on Saturday April 12th at 45 Kingsbury Street, formerly Cat’s Whiskers. The shop’s stock will include: rugs, cushions, throws, house plants, books, garden seeds and ornaments, many from popular brands such as Garden Trading and Weaver Green.
Lisa told Marlborough.news, “We are finally having our dream come true. I hope that people will come in and enjoy all the beautiful items that could enhance your home and garden. Why not treat yourself?”
“There will be a nice ambience and laughter. We want to get to know our customers and welcome you as we would our own family,” added Carly.
The shop will lead into an outdoor seasonal garden. Lisa, a trained beautician and tattooist, who makes her own skin products, is also opening a beauty salon in the downstairs space. Click here to find out more.
It has long been the dream of the friends to open their own shop as both have had considerable valuable retail experience working in various shops in Marlborough. Originally a primary school teacher, Carly made the life changing decision to follow her dream after recovering from breast cancer. She is also an artist and florist.
The name Peacock and Lily links with a famous quote from John Ruskin who said, “Remember the most beautiful things in life are often the most useless; peacocks and lilies for instance.”
Peacock and Lily will open from Tuesday to Saturday 9.30 – 5.30 pm and 11-4 pm on Sundays.
