Marlborough’s new ‘The Parade Cinema’ will open it’s doors to the community on Saturday 18 September. We don’t know yet what the film will be on the opening night but that will be announced in due course.
It will be almost fifty years since Marlborough’s former cinema in the High Street closed its doors for the last time after screening the ‘Dad’s Army’ film and before the building re-emerged as what is now Waitrose.
There is a new website for The Parade Cinema which will cover all information about screenings as well as enabling bookings and more.
There will be two types of membership available to cinemagoers – ‘Friends’ and ‘Members’. There is still the opportunity to sponsor a seat – have your name fixed to a particular seat in the auditorium.
Details about membership and seat sponsorship can be found on the Cinema website – linked above.
The auditorium will feature laser projection, full surround sound and comfortable armchair style seating, complimented by double seats in the back row of both the stalls and balcony.
There will be outdoor and indoor spaces for a catch up with friends over food and drink. The bar will serve a broad range of local beers, wines, soft drinks and snacks, as well as freshly prepared food in the café.
David Williams, Cinema Manager, says “opening a new cinema in Marlborough is an incredible opportunity, in the heart of such a vibrant and enthusiastic community. I am thrilled to work alongside an exceptional team of talented individuals to bring cinema back to Marlborough. I cannot wait to open the doors in September and welcome everyone.”
The opening of The Parade Cinema will be a major event for Marlborough. The cinema is there to be enjoyed by everyone – a great place to socialise with family and friends as well as see new, old and classic films in the state-of-the-art environment that few cinemas other than The Parade Cinema can offer.
