IGNITE is back at The Parade Cinema. IGNITE celebrates independent film from around the globe and brings four days of screenings to The Parade Cinema. This comprises three evenings of short film screenings (Thursdays 13, 20, 27 June), and new for this year is an Online Session on the Saturday (22 June).
This year all films will be shorts with seven or eight films per evening starting at 6pm. Every evening there will be a Q&A session directly after the final film has been screened, where members of the audience can talk with the Director and members of the cast and crew.
What’s on each night:
Ignite is the brainchild of film production company ‘Firebird Films’ owners Ross and Amelia
Mackenzie, and filmmaker and experienced film festival judge Billy Rees. Their sole aim is to create an independent film event that will stand out from other film festivals – with a focus on quality, diversity and creativity.
Billy told marlborough.news:
“We are incredibly excited to be returning to The Parade Cinema for our 2024 event. During the last two years we have been overwhelmed by the support shown by the people of Marlborough – and we hope that many previous attendees will join us again, alongside more people who are interested in seeing what the independent film industry has to offer. The feedback each year has been phenomenal – with many people blown away by the quality of films, and the unique format that the film festival offers. Why watch one movie when you can watch many short, incredible films across all genres?
It is so important that the independent film industry is supported and given a public platform. We hope that Ignite plays a small part in achieving that.”
