‘Ride & Stride’ is an annual fundraising event for local churches and this year, Heather Croucher and Jeremy York together with other members of St George’s raised over £1,000 for their Preshute church. On Saturday (13 September) Heather (67), Jeremy (83), accompanied by fellow Preshute members successfully completed the Wiltshire Ride & Stride, which demanded visits to specific Wiltshire chrches along different routes – some cycling, some on foot.
Jeremy rode his bicycle that he had cycled around east Germany and Poland on during the Cold War, while intelligence gathering, which drew interest along the way.

Preshute’s St George’s was their final stop and there they joined other members of the church who had been there offering refreshments to any ‘Ride and Striders’ who visited the church.
Heather told Marlborough.news: “Over £1,000 has been raised so far and grateful thanks goes to all the sponsors.”
