Children in the two reception classes, Robin and Wren, at Marlborough St Mary’s CE Primary School are settling in well and getting to know each other and the school, including the school dog – Woody.
Rachel Palmer, EYFS lead, told Marlborough.news, “Robin and Wren Class have begun their first days in Reception with a focus on relationships, wellbeing and a sense of belonging. The children have been gently welcomed into their new environment using our school’s nurturing values and the Hygge approach – a philosophy rooted in comfort, connection and joy. At the heart of this Danish-inspired ethos is a focus on creating a calm, homely, and emotionally secure environment.
Our four school drivers: Talk, Read, Connect, and Joy have helped shape every part of the day – from conversations over shared storybooks to collaborative play in the sandpit, building dens, and making porridge for Goldilocks!
Our school-cooked lunches have provided opportunities for quiet conversation, laughter, and the building of new friendships.
Our aim is to help children feel at home here. When children feel calm, happy, and connected, that’s when the real learning begins.”
Marlborough St Mary’s are holding an Open Morning, including a reception Stay and Play on Tuesday 14th October and Thursday 16th October from 9.30 am to 11 am.
